Nice Observatory

France (Nice)

This observatory dome, built under the direction of Charles Garnier, has an internal diameter of 22.4 metres. It owes its success to the special feature, introduced by G. Eiffel, of rotating on a ring-shaped float that allows a child to turn its 100-ton mass with the help of a small winch.
