Bridge on the road to St André de Cubzac

France

553 metres divided into 8 bays.
G. Eiffel innovated again by combining the processes of launching from both sides and cantilevering for the central part. On a part of the bridge girder already built by cantilevering, the following iron pieces were bolted on and once they were riveted, they were used as new support points to bolt the following pieces. In this way, the successive parts are completely raised in the void until the next support is reached, where the bridge is raised by means of jacks by the amount it was lowered by the bending.
